I honestly can't think of what to say, except please recommend me some versions of "Beat It On Down The Line" by The Grateful Dead, who is very underrated on this forum.

a great song: short and sweet!!!

1967-09-15-Hollywood Bowl:

1968-03-30-carousel ballroom (aud):

1969-04-15-the music box (aud):
http://www.archive.org/details/gd69-04-15.aud.miller.31435.sbeok.flacf

(the music box is one sweet version...)

1970-03-01-family dog:
http://www.archive.org/details/gd70-03-01.sbd.hanno.4641.sbefail.shnf

(they have the singing going at the family dog...)

1970-05-15-fillmore east (late):
http://www.archive.org/details/gd_nrps70-05-15.sbd.reynolds-kaplan.29473.shnf

(bobby is going to town on the 05-15 version...)

this one has to be started again but turns out ok, though you can tell they are having issues, 1970-12-26-legion stadium:
http://www.archive.org/details/gd70-12-26.sbd.miller.22369.sbeok.shnf

(sounds like they were enjoying some post-christmas treats as well as the tech issues...)

1971-02-21-capitol theater:
http://www.archive.org/details/gd71-02-21.sbd.lunz.1980.sbeok.shnf

and here is a couple on dick's picks:
dick's pick 8 - 1970-05-07 - binghamton
dick's pick 35 - 1971-08-07 - san diego

there are many fine europe 72 versions as well...

and for a totally different version check-out mother mcCree's uptown jug champions...1964

funny but after listening to 15 to 20 beat it down the lines all of a sudden I am being blasted by BIG BOSS MAN since it is next for that year in order of tunes...

enjoy!!!

That 12/26 is a good one!! There is also one where they mess up, Bob starts laughing and says something like Our Drummers can't count. I can't remember the date but it's classic.

9/22/88 has a 22 beat intro, iirc, and then rolls right on into greatest story, much to the chagrin of a scowling garcia...good comedy
